Creating an installation

An installation is the home for one webshop’s conversion tracking. Create one for each brand or webshop you want Metrion to track.

Before you start
You’ll need:

  • Admin access to the webshop you’re connecting

  • Knowledge of which CMS the shop runs on (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Shopware, or BigCommerce)

  • Knowledge of which CMP your shop uses (Cookiebot, Complianz, OneTrust, etc.)

  • Access to the ad accounts you’ll connect later as destinations

Steps

  1. Open Tracking → Installations in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Add new installation in the top right.

  3. Give the installation a clear name — usually the brand or shop name.

  4. Set the timezone to match the shop’s timezone. This controls how conversion dates appear in Reporting.

  5. Choose whether to include shipping costs and VAT in conversion values. Most accounts include both, so values match what’s reported in the shop.

  6. Pick your CMP from the dropdown.

  7. Pick your CMS from the dropdown.

  8. Save.

  9. Add at least one domain (see “Managing domains”).

  10. Connect at least one destination (see “Connecting a destination”).

  11. Install the Metrion plugin on the shop and pair it using the installation key + secret (see “The Installation key and secret”).

  12. Create your first Sync to start sending conversions to the destination (see “Creating a Sync”).

After creating the installation
The installation appears as a card on Tracking → Installations with the status Active. Conversions start showing up in Reporting once the plugin is installed and the first events fire on the shop.
