Create an installation

In Metrion, an installation is the core unit that connects your data ecosystem. It represents a specific setup combining: One or multiple domains (the source of your user data — e.g., your website). One or more destinations (like Google Ads or Meta Ads). Each workspace can have multiple installations — for example, if you're managing multiple clients or projects, each can live in its own installation for clean separation and control.

Step-by-Step instructions

1. Navigate to the Installations Page
After logging in, go to the Installations page. Click on Create your first installation or Add new installation.

2. Name Your Installation
Provide a clear and descriptive name for your installation, such as Client A Shopify or Main Website.

3. Select Your CMS
Choose the platform you're using from the dropdown menu. For instance, select Shopify if you're tracking a Shopify store

4. Copy Installation Key & Secret
These unique credentials will be used to connect your website or platform to Metrion.

5. Follow Integration Instructions
Below the installation settings, you'll find tailored setup instructions, such as connecting your Shopify store using our plugin. Follow these steps carefully.

6. Add Domains and Destinations
After saving your installation, you can connect it to one or more domains (sources) and destinations (channels where you want to send data).

🧠 Pro Tips You can always edit or delete your installation later, but be careful: deleting will remove all associated data and connections.

Keep installations focused: one installation per client, store, or project is a good rule of thumb.
